When you specify Airlay cushion-back carpet tiles, you’re choosing comfort without compromise. Our soft backing is made from recycled PET, giving discarded plastics a new purpose and helping keep waste out of oceans and landfill.

From discarded bottles to carpet backing
We transform discarded plastic bottles into soft, durable PET cushion backing. Bottles are processed into flakes and fibres, creating a high-performance recycled material.
Recycled polyester (rPET) uses fewer resources and produces significantly lower CO₂ emissions than virgin fibres, helping divert plastic from landfill and oceans.
Each square metre of Airlay cushion-back carpet tiles contains the equivalent of 50 x 500ml PET bottles.

Safe and Sustainable
With up to 85% of our cushion back made from recycled PET and other single-use plastics, Airlay helps combat the eight million tonnes of plastic entering our oceans each year.
Our process gives discarded plastics a new lease on life delivering a safe, sustainable, and responsible flooring solution for our client.
At Airlay, we believe reusing carpet is the way forward, extending lifecycles, cutting carbon, and keeping materials in circulation.
We create durable, reusable flooring designed with the full lifecycle in mind, reducing carbon and keeping materials in use for longer.
When customers return used flooring, we give it a new purpose. Products are received at our facility, thoroughly assessed, and prepared for reuse before being reintroduced into circulation through our trusted partner network.
Our partners include local businesses, schools, charities, and social enterprises, helping extend the life of materials and keep them in circulation for as long as possible.
